Superbet has hired former Paddy Power Betfair (PPB) director Adam Shaw as its new international online managing director, EGR Intel can reveal.
Shaw is currently based in London and will oversee the expansion of Superbet’s online presence outside of its native Romanian market.
He will report into Superbet’s chief digital officer Marcello Magaletti who joined the company in September.
Speaking to EGR Intel, Shaw said he was excited to join a smaller company at the early stages of expansion having previously worked at PPB and Betfair for nearly seven years.
“For me it was about the opportunity to go into a company that is an early enough stage that we can shape it to be what it needs to be,” he said.
“If you listen to [Superbet CEO] Sacha [Dragic] he is a pretty inspirational guy with lots of ambition,” Shaw added.
“The opportunity to come in on a project in its early stages was just really appealing and the idea of working in a slightly smaller business appealed to me personally.”
Shaw previously held a number of senior roles in PPB’s international team post-merger, including head of rest-of-world, head of international commercial and, most recently, international director.
Prior to leading PPB’s international division, he also worked in Betfair’s gaming team for a number of years.
Shaw’s appointment comes after Superbet recently made its debut in EGR’s Power 50 rankings.
